Type of imprisonment

(1) Wherever in any enactment there is a reference to imprisonment with or without hard labour, or to imprisonment with hard labour, it shall be construed as a reference to imprisonment only. (2) Any enactment under which imprisonment may be awarded shall be construed as providing that any person imprisoned thereunder shall work at such labour as the Officer-in-Charge of the prison may direct. etc.
